Richard began his career as Baker thirty five years ago on a City and Guilds Apprenticeship.

Before coming to The Welbeck Bakehouse Richard was based in Cumbria working alongside Andrew Whitley. Richard brings a history of knowledge and expertise in baking with wood fired ovens to The Welbeck Bakehouse, so much so that on his first shift he arrived to a note saying ‘Please Make Us Some Bread’!

Richard takes a lot of pride in what he does and loves the challenge set every night by the wood fired ovens, he knows that the timings for each style of loaf are different and each minute is critical.
